On the 10 th of October the region held its first meeting at the new venue of the Rose & Crown in Chellaston and I’m pleased to report that it was a huge success.
All the staff of the Rose & Crown could not have been more welcoming and many members of the region made use of the excellent food and refreshments on offer. The venue has a far superior car park with more than enough space for the regulars of the pub and all our cars.
We had a record turn out of cars with over twenty Dubs of varying models and states of tune – from completely standard (I know! The tow bar has to go…), to exotic (G60 with factory leather and air-con), to fully kitted and tuned. This turn out is even more pleasing considering there were several ‘regulars’ unable to attend.
It was really good to see a number of new faces and their pride and joys and nice to see people from nearby Nottingham making the journey as well. Everyone really made an effort to welcome the newcomers and we hope to see them again soon. The more the merrier!
All in all an excellent start at the new venue and I will look forward to meeting many more new members in the future.
